Our Other Pets.
As well has our much loved Rabbits we also have two Beautiful Jack Russell Terriers.
Molly & Morgan
We have always had dogs, mostly Jack Russells. We bred a few litters of pups in the 70s but then with the children being small, we gave up & just kept them has pets. In the more recent years we had a Border Collie,he was a faithfull friend, sadly we had to have him put to sleep early 2006. He was 13 yrs.old. Molly & Morgan are fantastic with our bunnies & quite often The French Lops give Molly the run around.much to everyones amusement.
Our Breeds
We started to keep Rabbits about 5 years ago. First of all we got Dutch, but they seemed a bit flighty. So next we had Lionheads, they were ok. then we found Lops, & we really liked them. They were very sociable & fun to have. Then came the real excitement we got a French Lop Agouti doe (Mildred) She was 12 wks old when we collected her, she came from a lady in Glossop. WOW !!! what a stunner That was it we were well & truely hooked. She soon grew, & soon became bigger than our Jack Russells. They love her to bits & often play with her. so that was that we settled on French Lops & Mini Lops & that is what we have at the present time

Our Latest Projects
2007 proved to be an eventful year for us here at Tor View Lops, We attended our 1st Show in January with a home Bred Blue French Lop little did we know at the time what that would lead to. We seemed to get more & more addicted to showing. We have attended lots of Shows over the year achieving quite a few Best of Breeds.
August brought sadness when Amanda (my former partner in Clifton Lops of Rossendale) & I decided to disolve our partnership. We have remained friends & we still have our lenghty phone chats & the odd cup of Coffee. I will always be gratefull to Amanda, It was her who wanted to show in the first place, I don't think I would have got there without her help.
We have been fortunate to get some French Lops imported from Holland, they are big bold Frenchies, They are a great asset to our Breeding lines, They seem to work well with our original stock .we have produced some lovely kits in 2007 & hope to continue to do the same in years to come.
We produced our 1st Chocolate in October he s growing well, he is a nice type he has a lovely head. we intend to Breed more Chocolates & hope to improve there size He came from our original stock we bought from Llukas Lops, Tina had done a lot of work on the Chocolate Frenchies several years ago, Rosie Malone our Opal Doe obviously carries the gene we hope to carry on her good work.
2008 at Tor View Lops.
We have had our ups & down in 2008. We set of the year well we attended our 1st Bradford Excel Show, & got a very suprising 3/15 with our lovely Blue Self Buck Blue John. We also collected another beautiful French Lop Import Baradley. We produced some fantastic litters in the spring. Melody, Minataur, Zantos are just a few that we kept on.
Sadly early in the year, we Lost Blue John it was a massive blow to us. We kept what we could from litters we had from him, Zantos in particular is very much like his dad.even down to the fantastic kind nature.
In the Summer our youngsters did us proud on the show table, taking Bob at several Shows up & down the country. It was at one of these shows that Melody got Bob. The judge was Phil Batey after the show was over he comented, he thought she was a very nice Doe.
I was absolutly thrilled when a few weeks later I received a phone call from Phil, asking if he could borrow Melody to help create carrires in his Blue Eyed White French Lops. & the rest most of you know.Melody is now back home & resting before we mate her to one of our own Bucks probably around February time.
While Melody was away sadly we lost her dad Bradley, he was bitten by a horse fly in his ear & after lots & lots of visits to the vets etc. it all got the better of him & we lost him.
Also this year we have created Chocolate Carriers, from our own Galaxy see the Chocolate story. We are pleased with them.
After all the excitment of 2008 who knows what a waits us in 2009.
