Tor View Lops
We are Arnold & Anne Crompton., we have been married since 1970. We have 3 grown up children & 10 Grandchildren. We have lived in the village of Helmshore for most of our married life. previously to that we lived in nearby Bury.
Arnold & I have worked together running our milk round in the village since 1973. It is a job we have always enjoyed. It was hard work & demanding at times early mornings & 7 days week in the early days in all sorts of weather
We met allsorts of people along the way.
I retired in 2011 & Arnold in September 2015. We now have both got lots of time to spend on our much loved Hobby.
Our eldest Daugter Adele is married to Bryan a farmer they live in Banks near Southport they have 3 girls Rebecca , Emma, & Kathryn.
Our son Jason is married to Lorraine, they live in Cheshire with there children Aidan, twin boys Charlie & Alfie, & there daughter Heather. Jason also has a son
John from a previous marriage, John lives in Blackpool with his mum.
Our youngest Daughter Helen met Martin her husband while they were studying at Hull University. When they both graduated they moved in together in St Neots Cambridgeshire. Where they got married & now have 2 beautiful Children Isabelle & Elliot.
It's hard sometimes them all living a distance away we do try to see them as often as we can.
Arnold & I were both born & brought up in the Farming life. We would have loved to have farmed ourselves but never quite managed it. Having the Milk round was next best thing we have always had very close contact with the farming community. My Elder brother was a Farmer near to Helmshore, that is where we purchased our milk from. we also spent lots of time there, sadly my brother passed away in 2000 his son Gary now has the farm we are very lucky we can take all our Rabbit waste there to be spread on the land.
We have also got 2 beautiful Jack Russell terriers
Molly & Morgan
We have always had dogs mostly Jack Russells. Molly & Morgan are both 12 Yrs old. we did have 2 litters of pups from them when they where younger one of the litters is pictured below. They love to run on the field at the back of our house. They also enjoy the snow.
They are both really good with the Rabbits, Sometimes Morgan gets a little bit protective when babies are of to new homes.
Sadly we had to have Morgan put to sleep December 2016 aged 14.
2019 Molly is now 16yrs old, she is a bit deaf these days, & her sight is failing,
She still likes to check out the Rabbits.
Especially if there's a chance of anything to eat
She loves Carrots & is partial to a bit cabbage if she thinks she is missing out.
